Lesson Outline
It’s time to prepare for your mock interview!
We will focus on the skills needed to succeed at interview, including relevant language, vocabulary and industry specific knowledge. We will look at the different types of interview, analyse some example interviews, useful techniques and practise giving effective answers at interview.

From competency based to technical, the UK has a range of different interview types. Here, we will look at the most common interview types.

UK interviews are often ‘behaviours’ or ‘competency’ based - we will look at effective interview techniques to use in this setting.

We will review the cultural differences to be aware of when attending a UK interview, including the main areas of focus.
Lesson Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, we hope you will:
Understand the most common formats for interviews (and what is required).
Feel more confident when attending an interview.
Be able to answer interview questions more effectively.

Optional Assessment
Each week, we offer an optional additional marked assignment, to help you develop your skills further.
This week, we will have a selection of interview questions for you to choose from - including interview questions specific to your industry.
The task will be to plan out an answer to 2-3 of these interview questions, using the STAR approach (Situation, Task, Achievement, Result). Your teacher will mark this and provide feedback, focusing on language (grammar, fluency), industry specific language and how effectively you have sold your skills.
